Grant Simon Rogers is a British-born photographer and artist, now living in Berlin. He creates photographs that have a singular, almost unique contemplation of the beautiful urban flora that surrounds him.
Grant instantly fell in love with the photographic process when handed a camera at art college. But before becoming a professional photographer, he enjoyed careers as an illustrator, film animator and artist.
The theatricality in his work comes from the use of fill flash with his trusty Leica Q camera, emulating the day-for-night filmmaking technique. Grant loves the meditative state he experiences creating these photographs.
When he’s not shooting, Grant teaches art, history of art and visual literacy at some of the world’s most prestigious museums and institutions. He refers to his influences as 'as much Walt Disney as Walt Whitman'.
Grant’s work is collected internationally and he has exhibited across the UK and Europe, including at Fokus Berlin, part of the European Month of Photography 2020 at the KühlhausBerlin.
