Noah Sheldon is a photographer and filmmaker based in Shanghai and New York.
Noah started his career in still images. He brings a strong eye for clean and compelling composition and natural storytelling. He handles subjects with consideration and sensitivity, favouring an observational approach; authenticity is a hallmark of his work.
His editorial work has appeared in a huge number of publications around the world.
Whilst Noah’s art work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the US and abroad including MoMA PS1, ICA, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art. In a review of his solo exhibition New York Times art critic Roberta Smith praised his approach. “Mr Sheldon is skilled at separating beauty from the material world while reminding us that it is just about everywhere.”
Noah likes to keep personal projects going. One of these is Work-is, an ongoing series of video documentaries capturing the modern labour force in China, bringing to life individual stories in a more intimate and granular way.
